What it is?

Scale Mind provides recommendations for the necessary actions using best practice for prompt and appropriate cost-effective solutions

Scale Mind is a diagnostic tool which provides estimation of tendency of water to form inorganic scales in any part of the system of interest as a function of pressure, temperature, water composition, and mixing.

Scale Mind enables the assessment of the following:

  • Probability of scale formation for calcium carbonate; calcium, barium, and strontium sulfates; and iron carbonate and sulfide
  • Scaling severity, based on the computed mass of precipitated salt
  • Overall scale threat for each salt under specified operating conditions by combining probability, severity, and water flow rate
  • Ryzner Saturation Index and the Stiff & Davis Stability Index are included to predict CaCO3 scaling potential.
  • Percentage of Ca2+ and Ba2+ which deposit, CaCO3 and BaSO4 deposit thickness and mass
  • Impact of methanol on scaling tendency • The required dosage of the most commonly used active components of scale inhibitors
  • Impact of changes in relevant parameters on scaling tendency – sensitivity analysis.

Our Scale Mind service is a true digital operating advisor enabling diagnosis, decision making, recommendation, and optimization of the water handling system.

What ScalMind Analyzes?

(Inputs, conditions, and system states)

  • Water chemistry
  • Pressure and temperature profiles across the system
  • Mixing of different water streams at any ratio
  • Water flow rate
  • Presence of oil, gas, and methanol
  • Residence time
  • Operating conditions across collection, treatment, transport, and disposal
